2025 personal tax return (IR1/ΤΦ1): no interest or penalties until 30 November 2026

The Tax Department announced today, 19 October 2026, that no interest or monetary penalties will be charged on the 2025 individual income tax return without accounts (form ΤΦ1, IR1 in English), provided the return is filed and the tax and contributions are paid by 30 November 2026.

What exactly applies

Date Basis
Statutory deadline for filing and payment 31 October 2026 Council of Ministers Order (KDP 260/2026)
Filing and payment with no interest or penalties 30 November 2026 Tax Commissioner’s decision (articles 39(8), 50A(a) and 50A(e) of Law 4/1978)

Two conditions, not one. The concession only applies if both happen by 30 November: the return is filed and the tax and contributions are paid. A return filed on time but paid later (or the other way round) is not covered.

Who it affects. Individuals filing a 2025 ΤΦ1 return without accounts, mainly employees, pensioners and people with rental, interest or dividend income. The announcement does not move any other deadline: the 2025 employer’s annual return (ΤΦ7/TD7) stays at 30 November 2026 (announcement of 16 September 2026).

Take care with corrections from 1 November. Because of the gradual move to the new Tax For All (TFA) system, from 1 November 2026 it may no longer be possible to change a return’s status from “Final submission” back to “Provisional acceptance”. In practice, a return submitted as final may be hard to correct afterwards, so check everything before final submission.

What to do

  • Don’t leave the return to the last days of November. 30 November is already the busiest day of the year (2024 company returns with accounts and 2025 employer returns).
  • Send us any missing information now (salary certificates, rents, interest, insurance premiums, donations).
  • Approve the draft we send you before final submission, so no correction is needed after 1 November.
  • Pay the tax by 30 November as well, not just file the return.

If we prepare your return or you have questions, contact Epaminondou & Co on +357 22662938 or at info@epaminondou.com.
